Terms of Service

What this service is

MusicIndexer is a search index. It records metadata about music files that already exist on public BitTorrent networks and on Usenet, together with a pointer to where each file is located. We do not host, store, or distribute audio recordings.

Your account

You are responsible for keeping your credentials and API key confidential, and for all activity carried out with them. Accounts are for a single subscriber. Sharing an API key across organisations is not permitted.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use the service to infringe the rights of others, to scrape the catalog in bulk for redistribution, to resell access without a written agreement, or to attempt to disrupt the service or the infrastructure behind it. See the Acceptable Use Policy.

Your responsibility for what you obtain

Search results describe material published by third parties. Whether you may lawfully download, copy, perform, or broadcast any given recording depends on the rights attached to it and on the law where you are. That determination is yours to make. If you broadcast, obtaining the appropriate licences from the relevant rights organisations is your responsibility, not ours.

Availability

Pointers reference third party networks that we do not control. A source that is available today may not be tomorrow. We rank sources by health and provide fallbacks, but we do not warrant that any particular recording will be retrievable at any particular time.

Payment and cancellation

Subscriptions are billed in advance through Stripe Secure Checkout and renew until cancelled. Cancelling stops future billing and ends access at the end of the paid period. Where a promotional or locked rate applied to your subscription, cancelling ends that rate.

Suspension

We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms, that is used for unlawful purposes, or where payment fails and is not resolved.

Liability

The service is provided as is. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including loss of broadcast time, revenue, or data.

Changes

We may amend these terms. Material changes will be notified to the email on your account.
